VeliQ, the innovative company responsible for the only true enterprise
mobility Platform as a Service (mPaaS™) solution, VimpelCom Ltd.
(Nasdaq:VIP) and SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) have announced a commercial
partnership wherein VimpelCom will offer VeliQ’s mobility Platform as a
Service (mPaaS™) solution to more than 260,000 companies in
Russia.
The service was launched on November 1, 2013, and will be operated
through VimpelCom’s own Data Center in Moscow.
“VimpelCom is proud to be the first to pave the way for MDM services in
Russia,” added Andrey Patoka, Executive Vice-President and the Head of
VimpelCom Russia’s B2B Unit. “We believe that there will be great demand
for this solution on the B2B market. The penetration of smartphones and
tablets on the Russian market is growing rapidly, and this raises the
risk of corporate information losses. MDM is the easiest way for
corporate clients to manage their mobile devices and security.”
Leveraging SAP’s industry-leading Afaria© mobile device
management engine, VeliQ’s mPaaS solution provides users with a highly
scalable, multi-tenant, SaaS-based solution for mobile device
management, application management, content management and security.
VeliQ’s mPaaS solution incorporates the means to integrate corporate
back end systems such as Active Directory or enterprise data to provide
complete mobility enablement all in one unified console.
“Companies across the globe are increasingly shifting towards mobility
and cloud services,” explains Alex Bausch, founder and CEO of VeliQ.
“Employees are bringing their own devices and IT departments are being
confronted with a plethora of devices, operating systems and
applications, forcing organizations to start using solutions that are
user-friendly, that can be quickly deployed, and that can manage and
secure all of these mobile devices, applications and content.”
This newly-announced cooperation between VeliQ, VimpelCom and SAP is a
prime example of an ecosystem approach and will allow their customers to
use the most complete, best-of-breed mobile technologies in a scalable
SaaS model.
