SAN DIEGO, Nov. 21, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mitek (Nasdaq:MITK) (www.miteksystems.com), the leading innovator of mobile imaging for financial transactions, today announced that it has been issued U.S. Patent No. 8,582,862, "MOBILE IMAGE QUALITY ASSURANCE IN MOBILE DOCUMENT IMAGE PROCESSING APPLICATIONS," by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mitek now has 18 patents issued and 21 patent applications pending.
Mitek scientists have invented a new series of advanced algorithms and intellectual property which underpins this patent. These algorithms assess document image quality and enable more efficient processing for Mitek clients and reduced friction in the consumer experience.
To deliver a superior user experience, Mitek Labs created a way to evaluate the quality of the images captured by the consumer in order to determine if they can be processed correctly.
