New 3M Radiology Reporting Software Promotes Accurate Reports and Fast Turnaround Times

MMM

3M Health Information Systems has released 3M ChartScriptMD Software for Radiology, a new reporting application that makes it easy for busy radiologists to create, sign, and distribute complete reports and communicate diagnostic findings all from a single, integrated system. The advanced, time-saving software puts radiologists in control of the document creation process with flexible options for traditional dictation or speech recognition combined with hundreds of report templates that match standard CPT® billing codes. By matching a radiologist’s preferred workflow, the software helps achieve accurate, high-quality reports while reducing report turnaround times.

Designed by a practicing radiologist, 3M ChartScriptMD Software for Radiology makes it easy to customize reports, capture and include images, and manage work lists. Using 3M natural language processing (NLP), the software highlights key words and critical phrases to simplify report proofing, and also integrates with 3M computer-assisted coding (CAC) technology for a complete ICD-10 voice-to-coding solution. It integrates with all major PACS applications and offers a “reading-room-ready” experience so radiologists can view all reports in one place using high-contrast, easy-to-read screens.

“Radiologists are under pressure to create reports that are highly accurate and produced faster for lower cost,” said JaeLynn Williams, senior vice president for 3M Health Information Systems. “Our new radiology reporting software not only increases efficiency and convenience, but also helps produce data and reports that are accurate and of high quality. Our goal is to help radiologists succeed in this era of rising costs, regulatory change, and payment reform.”

3M Health Information Systems will demonstrate the new software at the 2013 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, December 1-6 in Chicago, at booth #3511 on the exhibit floor.

3M ChartScriptMD Software for Radiology is the latest addition to 3M’s complete suite of document creation and document management products. It is used in conjunction with 3M ChartScript Software for report distribution and integrates with the 3M 360 Encompass System for computer-assisted coding. Together, these products provide a computer-assisted coding workflow that promotes accurate, complete, and compliant documentation, coding and billing.
