Lighting
Science® (OTCQB: LSCG) a leader in LED lighting technology,
announced today that founder and Chief Technology Officer Fred Maxik has
been awarded his 100th patent by the United States Patent & Trademark
Office. This milestone marks a prestigious career of LED innovation
including patents for the first biologically-corrected lighting which is
the genesis of the recently launched, ground-breaking Good Night™ LED
lamp and the Awake & Alert™ LED lamp.
From its small beginnings in 2004, Lighting Science has become one of
the world’s leading LED manufacturers of lighting with Mr. Maxik’s
guidance. His extensive array of patents include lamps and luminaires
designs, specialized power, optical and thermal management solutions,
embedded intelligence including color mixing, wireless networking of
luminaires for sensing, automation and communication plus next
generation adaptable lighting systems for biological, medical,
agricultural and environmental applications.
The 100th patent (U.S. Patent 8608348) illustrates an
enclosed method of improved LED thermal management which guards the life
of the device. Traditional cooling systems such as vents and other
openings allow for the addition of contaminants into the housing of the
digital device which often causes early failure or faulty performance.
The new invention provides a fluid flow generator cooling system for a
digital device that can operate in a sealed system. It is inexpensive to
build and install and is energy efficient.
