CES (Booth #9839) — DTS,
Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and
audio enhancement technologies, announced today the expansion of its
Play-Fi™ ecosystem to include a Play-Fi™ Certified ODM Program. The
program currently includes several leading audio manufacturers
including: Eastech Electronics Inc., Fenda Technology Co., Ltd., LiteOn
Technology Corporation, Meiloon Industrial Co. Ltd., Solidex Audio
Corporation, Tymphany Corporation, Wistron Corporation, and Zylux
Acoustic Corp. DTS and the program participants will be showcasing
Play-Fi technology in DTS-certified, market-ready reference designs at
the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show.
“With strong customer demand from multiple market sectors, DTS is
building a global ecosystem with Play-Fi technology,” said Brian Towne,
executive vice president and chief operating officer at DTS. “By adding
these world-class manufacturers to the Play-Fi ODM Program, DTS is able
to connect potential licensees with their choice of pre-qualified
production partners. Play-Fi has been architected from the start for
easy implementation, and the addition of these committed manufacturing
resources makes the process even simpler and faster for brands to bring
Play-Fi equipped products to market. The breadth of the program also
reinforces Play-Fi’s powerful applicability across platforms.”
Play-Fi is an advanced open audio platform capable of streaming
lossless, high-quality audio from Android, iOS and Kindle Fire devices,
as well as Windows PCs, to multiple rooms, from multiple users,
simultaneously using a standard home Wi-Fi network. Unlike single
speaker wireless solutions, which only allow users to stream directly to
one speaker from their mobile devices, Play-Fi gives users full control
of an entire network of speakers in the home. Users can set-up, link,
and stream audio to one Play-Fi enabled speaker or multiple speakers
throughout the home at once, perfectly synchronized and with no lag.
“Today’s consumers are enjoying a broad range of music services, and
demanding higher quality in-home listening experiences. Play-Fi delivers
on the promise of streaming high-quality audio wirelessly throughout the
home,” added Dannie Lau, general manager of Phorus, a subsidiary of DTS.
“With the addition of these new manufacturing allies, Play-Fi technology
is positioned as an ideal platform for manufacturers looking to offer a
wireless multi-room speaker solution.”
