NCM Media Networks, the top national cinema network in the U.S., is
bringing critically acclaimed Denver-based foursome The Fray to the big
screen as the first featured artist in NCM’s FirstLook pre-show
program.
The Fray’s latest single, “Love Don’t Die,” will be integrated
throughout NCM’s FirstLook in AMC, Cinemark, Regal Entertainment
Group and other top movie theaters nationwide, generating excitement for
the band’s highly anticipated new album. Helios, the fourth album
from The Fray, will be released February 25 on Epic Records. “Love Don’t
Die” has already received early critical acclaim from the Denver Post as
well as Billboard hailing its “bare emotion bolstered by echoing backing
vocals and unexpected twang.” Pre-order for the album is available now
at http://smarturl.it/helios.
“We’ve always had a real connection to movies because we tend to think
of our music as a soundtrack that creates an emotional connection with
our audiences. Music is such a powerful sensory experience, and it’s
cool to be reaching people in a new way,” said Isaac Slade with The Fray.
In addition to the band being the first-ever featured musical artist in FirstLook,
The Fray will also be performing a special invitation-only concert at
the Sundance Film Festival for NCM Media Networks’ clients and guests.
“FirstLook has always been about bringing movie audiences the
best in entertainment, so incorporating the music of The Fray into our
pre-show is a great new direction for us,” said Cliff Marks, president
of sales & marketing with NCM Media Networks. “I’m a big fan of the
band, and I know that many other moviegoers are too. Music and the
movies naturally go together, and we look forward to exploring the power
of the big screen with other artists in the future.”
“We wanted to find a fresh way to launch the album using new marketing
channels that are intrinsic to the band, and we felt that cinema is the
perfect match because The Fray are one of the most licensed bands for
film and television in the past decade,” said Kevin Spellman of Vector
Management. “NCM’s FirstLook is a vehicle that can really connect
the dots for us, giving the new single a heightened awareness beyond
radio.”
In an increasingly fragmented media environment, NCM Media Networks
offers blockbuster opportunities for brands to reach over 700 million
moviegoers a year. NCM is America’s number one network on weekends,
consistently ranking higher than most TV and cable networks on Fridays
and Saturdays* when audiences head out to the movies. Coming off of
another record year for box office, The Fray’s new single “Love Don’t
Die” will be heard by millions of moviegoers across America.

About The Fray
The Fray is Slade, Joe King (guitar, vocals), Dave Welsh (guitar), and
Ben Wysocki (drums). The Denver-based foursome formed in 2002 after high
school friends Slade and King bumped into each other at a local guitar
shop. The band achieved national success with their first single, “Over
My Head (Cable Car),” which became a top ten hit in the U.S., and the
release of their second single, “How to Save a Life,” brought them
worldwide fame.
The fourth album Helios from critically acclaimed Denver-based
foursome The Fray will be released February 25 on Epic Records. Of the
new music, produced by Stuart Price (The Killers, Madonna, Keane) and
Ryan Tedder (Adele, One Republic), Isaac Slade (piano, vocals) notes,
“Working with Stuart was the best of both worlds. We brought our organic
instruments, and he brought his arsenal of electronic antiques. This
record is all about running to the front lines of what we’ve done and
pushing our borders even farther. Electronic instruments, drum samples,
enormous backing vocals, opening up our writing to folks outside our
camp.” The latest track “Love Don’t Die” has received early critical
acclaim from Denver Post as well as Billboard hailing its
“bare emotion bolstered by echoing backing vocals and unexpected twang.”
