MAHWAH, N.J., March 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Radware® (Nasdaq:RDWR), a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, announced it is the first recipient to receive Alcatel-Lucent's NFVisionary Award.
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris:ALU) (NYSE:ALU) created the NFVisionary Award to recognize virtual application companies, from the CloudBand NFV Ecosystem, who have had the greatest impact and success in helping service providers drive innovation in their networks and move to the cloud in 2013. Alcatel-Lucent's CloudBand Ecosystem consists of 26 technology providers including virtual network function vendors, platform partners and service providers working collectively to develop and advance NFV in the telecom industry.
Radware has received top scores for their development work and commitment to advancing NFV use cases and deployments with the same availability and reliability that service providers have come to expect. The award recognizes Radware's commitment to Network Functions Virtualization, based on their:
-
NFV Vision - Radware, an early adopter in the CloudBand NFV Ecosystem, was one of the first companies to see and develop an early Network Functions Virtualization solution.
-
Collaboration - Radware has demonstrated an enthusiastic and collaborative spirit in the development of use cases for service providers advancing NFV knowledge.
-
NFV Use Cases - Radware produced one of the first use cases in 2013, demonstrating the virtualization of load balancing, and made this available to the NFV community. Radware working with Alcatel-Lucent is advancing a new use case to provide vDP – Virtual DDoS prevention to further facilitate DDoS solutions in NFV implementations.
-
NFV Solutions – Radware's development of virtual load balancers has contributed a critical component for service provider NFV environments by overcoming some of the significant networking challenges associated with providing elastic and scalable cloud capabilities.
"CloudBand NFV Ecosystem partners will continue to drive innovation with service providers to respond to today's virtualization challenges including: faster service deployment, simplified operations, and better leveraged assets. Last October, Alcatel-Lucent opened our lab for free so partners like Radware could onboard their applications onto CloudBand, our NFV Platform, at no cost, and with NFV experts to help them. We have the only ecosystem who provides a network environment for our partners to onboard their applications to test and learn. We believe that this hands-on approach of open collaboration is the key to helping service providers visualize the benefit of moving to a virtualized environment. Our goal is to foster collaboration and experimentation that will accelerate NFV. Congratulations to Radware for their contribution to advancing the next generation of NFV solutions for service providers," commented Dor Skuler, General Manager, CloudBand Business Unit, Alcatel-Lucent.
"We are extremely honored to receive this award along with Alcatel-Lucent's recognition to our ongoing efforts with NFV," says David Aviv, vice president, advanced services, Radware. "As an early adopter in this ecosystem, we are pleased to see our hard work, dedication and efforts have been recognized."
