West Haven Commences High Resolution Airborne Geophysical Survey On It's Ben Property

V.WHN

VANCOUVER, B.C. / ACCESSWIRE / April 23, 2014 / Westhaven Ventures Inc. (TSX-V:WHN) is pleased to announce that a high resolution airborne geophysical survey has commenced on its Ben property, located midway between the Mount Polley and Gibraltar Mines, approximately 50 km north of Williams Lake, B.C.

The purpose of the survey is to follow up on last fall’s drill campaign that confirmed both anomalous nickel and gold mineralization. Hole BN13-03 intersected 70.6metres grading 0.31% Nickel (Ni) and 0.012% Cobalt (Co) from surface to 87 metres depth and hole BN13-02 intersected 15.0 metres grading 0.18% Ni from surface to 19.0 metres depth. Hole BN13-02 also intersected two intervals containing gold including 1.5 metres grading 0.59 g/t Gold (Au) and 2.8 metres grading 0.57 g/t Au.

Westhaven anticipates that the high resolution aeromagnetic survey will help identify the distribution of magnetite associated with the higher grading nickel observed in the 2013 drill program. Geologists have traced a broad zone of alteration (highly serpentinized ultramafic rocks) and geochemical anomalies that can be
traced over a distance in excess of 10 kilometres and management believes the property has the potential to host a significant amount of nickel.

Westhaven has engaged Precision GeoSurveys Inc. of Vancouver, B.C. to fly the helicopter-borne high resolution aeromagnetic survey over the entire 15,322 hectare property. The survey block will be flown in a systematic low-level grid pattern at 200 metre line spacing, covering a total of 846 line kilometres. The survey is expected to take 3-5 days and final maps (total magnetic intensity, first vertical magnetic derivative, and digital topographic model maps) will be ready for review shortly after the completion of the survey.
