LIN Media's Minority Scholarship and Training Program is an integral part of the Company's strategy to strengthen its talent base and deepen connections within its local communities by building on the cultural diversity of its workforce. LIN Media has been awarding scholarships to ambitious students since 1998.

Ms. Lee will be entering her senior year at Arkansas State University, where she is pursuing a major in Creative Media Production and a minor in International Studies. She has held leadership positions in many organizations and activities on campus, including National Communications Coordinator for the National Residence Hall Honorary, Junior Representative in the Honors College Association, General Manager of Audio Production at the University’s radio station and News Director for the University’s new Internet radio station. As the recipient of LIN Media’s 2014 Minority Broadcast Scholarship and Training Program, Ms. Lee will earn hands-on broadcast training this summer at WPRI-TV (CBS) and WNAC-TV (FOX) in Providence, RI.

Mr. Yeung will be entering his junior year at Santa Clara University in California, where he is pursuing a major in Communications. Since high school, Preston has shown a strong interest in media on all screens. He served as President of the Monta Vista High School Film Club and entered many short films into film festivals. He has received numerous awards, including the NASA Spin-Off Video Award, PTSA Excellence in the Arts and AMASE Inspiration Award. Mr. Yeung will continue to advance his career in digital media through a summer 2014 internship at KRQE-TV (CBS) and KASA-TV (FOX) in Albuquerque, NM.

“While the media industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, our scholarship and internship program furthers our commitment to attracting future leaders and promoting diversity in the workplace,” said Vincent L. Sadusky, President and Chief Executive Officer of LIN Media. "Our recipients have high aspirations and we are pleased to provide them with an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience."

Students are selected for the program based on various criteria, including academic achievement, passion for broadcasting and digital mediums, as well as a strong desire to contribute to the overall advancement of the industry. Each student will receive either a one-year or two-year scholarship for up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per year. The Minority Scholarship and Training Program recipients will be assigned full-time positions at LIN Media upon graduation and successful completion of the training program.
