announced N’Deea Lee as the recipient of its 2014 Minority Broadcast
Scholarship and Training Program and Preston Yeung as the recipient of
its 2014 Minority Digital Scholarship and Training Program.

LIN Media's Minority Scholarship and Training Program is an integral
part of the Company's strategy to strengthen its talent base and deepen
connections within its local communities by building on the cultural
diversity of its workforce. LIN Media has been awarding scholarships to
ambitious students since 1998.
Ms. Lee will be entering her senior year at Arkansas State University,
where she is pursuing a major in Creative Media Production and a minor
in International Studies. She has held leadership positions in many
organizations and activities on campus, including National
Communications Coordinator for the National Residence Hall Honorary,
Junior Representative in the Honors College Association, General Manager
of Audio Production at the University’s radio station and News Director
for the University’s new Internet radio station. As the recipient of LIN
Media’s 2014 Minority Broadcast Scholarship and Training Program, Ms.
Lee will earn hands-on broadcast training this summer at WPRI-TV (CBS)
and WNAC-TV (FOX) in Providence, RI.
Mr. Yeung will be entering his junior year at Santa Clara University in
California, where he is pursuing a major in Communications. Since high
school, Preston has shown a strong interest in media on all screens. He
served as President of the Monta Vista High School Film Club and entered
many short films into film festivals. He has received numerous awards,
including the NASA Spin-Off Video Award, PTSA Excellence in the Arts and
AMASE Inspiration Award. Mr. Yeung will continue to advance his career
in digital media through a summer 2014 internship at KRQE-TV (CBS) and
KASA-TV (FOX) in Albuquerque, NM.

Students are selected for the program based on various criteria,
including academic achievement, passion for broadcasting and digital
mediums, as well as a strong desire to contribute to the overall
advancement of the industry. Each student will receive either a one-year
or two-year scholarship for up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per
year. The Minority Scholarship and Training Program recipients will be
assigned full-time positions at LIN Media upon graduation and successful
completion of the training program.
