Black
Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), a leading technology solutions
provider, announced today it has joined the HDBaseT Alliance (http://www.HDBaseT.org/)
at the Adopter level. HDBaseT Adopters have access to finalized
specifications and updates, are listed as members on the HDBaseT Web
site, provide feedback on finalized specifications, and more.
HDBaseT is a connectivity standard for distribution of uncompressed HD
multimedia content. HDBaseT technology converges full HD digital video,
audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power over cable, and various control signals
through a single LAN cable. This is referred to as 5Play™, a
feature set that sets HDBaseT technology above the current standard.
The HDBaseT Alliance is a cross-industry alliance to promote and
standardize HDBaseT technology for end-to-end distribution of
uncompressed HD multimedia content.
Erik Indresøvde, Audio Visual Product Manager for Black Box, says, “We
are very excited to be members of the HDBaseT Alliance. Black Box has
several HDBaseT products for signal extension which will soon be
available to our customers. We have staked out our position in the
growing HDBaseT ecosystem, and being members of the Alliance enables us
to certify our HDBaseT products to ensure the highest standard.”
Black Box will be exhibiting several HDBaseT products at InfoComm in Las
Vegas, June 18–20, 2014. Visit Booth #N1963.
