Sam’s Club will open a new Kansas City club at 8130 N. Church Road
following an 8 a.m. Grand Opening ceremony Thursday, June 26. The
membership warehouse club will give residents and small business owners
the opportunity to access incredible savings on quality products,
including the national and local brands they expect and aspire to, as
well as some unexpected finds.
“We cannot wait to serve the community in our new club,” said Club
Manager B.J. McAllister. “We’ve taken great care to make sure our
members will find the club full of the merchandise they’re looking for,
as well as some fun surprises, at an amazing value. This will be the
beginning of a great partnership with residents, business owners and
community organizations.”

Measuring approximately 136,000 square feet, the new club will feature a
variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire
and battery center, a café and a fuel station.
A number of health and wellness services are also available. The Sam’s
Club Pharmacy,
open to both members and the public, features many $4 and $10 generic
prescriptions, as well as extraordinary savings on branded
prescriptions. In addition to everyday low prices, the Optical
Center offers $40 off each additional pair of regularly priced
prescription eyeglasses with the purchase of a complete pair of
eyeglasses at regular price. Lastly, at the Hearing
Aid Center, premium technology in hearing aids and personal

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events and
offerings
State Representative Noel Shull, along with representatives from the
Liberty, Richmond, Excelsior Springs, and Kansas City, Mo. Chambers,
will be participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Excelsior
Springs Job Corps will be leading the posting of the colors.
Free health screenings, open to members and the public, will be given
opening day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and June 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. to assess cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, hearing and a
variety of other wellness areas.

New club brings 180 new jobs to community, provides $25,000 in local
grants
To staff the new Kansas City club, Sam’s Club has hired more than 180
new associates. Sam’s Club and parent company Walmart currently employ
more than 40,000 people in the state of Missouri.
“We built a great team to serve the northland area,” said McAllister.
“This team of associates is passionate about the community and exceeding
member expectations. I look forward to introducing them on grand opening
day.”
In that spirit of giving back, Sam’s Club has selected several local
non-profit organizations to benefit from special grants totaling $25,000
as part of the Grand Opening celebration, including: Hill Crest Hope,
MVCAA, Teach & Learn Experientially, Liberty Sertoma, Liberty Public
Schools, Liberty Hospital Foundation, TNK Children’s Foundation, Ray
County Memorial Hospital, Excelsior Springs Educational Foundation, The
Richmond Education Foundation, Friends of Due West, the Clay County
Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and the City of Liberty Community Emergency
Response Team.
