HOUSTON, July 31, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (or "IES") (Nasdaq:IESC) today announced the expiration of its previously announced $20 million rights offering. The subscription period for the rights offering expired at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on July 29, 2014. In excess of approximately 90% of the basic subscription rights were exercised in the offering, and including the exercise of over-subscription privileges, stockholders subscribed for shares of common stock representing approximately 140% of the shares offered in the rights offering. Because the rights offering was over-subscribed, IES expects to receive net proceeds of approximately $19.7 million from the offering after deducting expenses relating to the offering. Following the issuance of the newly subscribed shares, which is expected to occur within seven business days of the expiration, IES will have approximately 21,770,407 million total shares outstanding. The Company anticipates using the net proceeds of the rights offering for general corporate purposes, including to further its strategy of growth through selective acquisitions.
