Sears Canada Issues a Voluntary Product Recall for Nevada toddlers and girls Moccasins

TORONTO, Aug. 5,  2014 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. is issuing a voluntary product recall today for Nevada toddlers and girls moccasins in black, yellow and tan colours.  It has been discovered that the moccasins contain a high concentration of lead.  Neither Health Canada nor Sears Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries relating to the use of this product.

The moccasins were sold at Sears Canada retail stores and online at www.sears.ca, between January 2014 and July 2014. The Sears regular selling price was $24.99. The Sears item number can be found on the customer's receipt.

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who have the affected moccasin to stop children from wearing it and return the item to their nearest Sears department store for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale or Sears Card statement, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt.

Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety recall.  Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience.
