Arkologic
Corporation today announced the publication of an industry standard
NFS benchmark demonstrating the fastest Overall Response Time (ORT) ever
achieved by an NFS server storage appliance. The SPECsfs2008 benchmark
was conducted using Arkologic’s all-flash SMA 8100 system, which
delivered an overall system response time of 0.33ms, more than twice as
fast any of the previous benchmark submissions made by incumbent vendors
such as EMC (NYSE:EMC) and NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP).
“Our systems are designed to deliver blistering performance for the most
demanding, compute-intensive environments,” said Tom Chin, CEO of
Arkologic. “The most important metric to consider in increasing overall
application performance is the time it typically takes a storage system
to respond to an application’s request for data. This benchmark result
shows that our SMA 8100 system has the ability to respond to these
requests in less than half the time it takes our competitors systems to
do so.”
“As one of Arkologic’s early channel partners, Bedrock is excited to
take this next generation NFS storage system to customers in industries
such as EDA, biotechnology, software development, and clients with
similar performance requirements that need high throughput with low
latency,” said Tom Holt, SVP Sales, Bedrock Technology Partners. “As one
of the industry’s leading storage solutions providers, Bedrock is aware
that I/O has become a bottleneck for EDA workloads, and deploying
Arkologic storage shortens the time it takes to design and produce an
ASIC.”
The Arkologic SMA 8100 all-flash NAS appliance is targeted toward
performance-demanding compute infrastructures such as those found in the
EDA, manufacturing, CGI, and biotechnology industries. The proven speed
of the Arkologic SMA 8100 can enable these customers to dramatically
reduce product developments cycles, increase productivity, and lower
overall costs.

About Arkologic
Arkologic was founded in 2010 to provide innovative solid-state storage
solutions that enable customers to dramatically reduce product
development cycles, increase productivity, and lower costs. Arkologic’s
new, second generation Silicon Memory Array product, the SMA 8100, is an
all solid-state NAS storage appliance that is specifically tuned and
optimized to deliver all of the benefits of flash memory technology to a
diverse range of application environments. The company’s products
provide high throughput and low latency access to data for the most
demanding application workloads, such as those found in Electronic
Design Automation (EDA) infrastructures, Computer Generated Imagery
(CGI) render farms, and web scale application delivery infrastructures.
