MONTREAL, Dec. 11, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Supremex Inc. ("Supremex" or the "Company") (TSX: SXP), Canada's largest producer of stock and custom-manufactured envelopes and growing provider of packaging and specialty products, today announced the appointment of Robert B. Johnston as Chairman of the Board as well as the nomination of Stewart Emerson, President and CEO of Supremex Inc., and Warren J. White as Directors of the Company.
These changes result from the resignation of George Armoyan, Michael Rapps and Charles Pellerin, which takes effect today and follows the previously announced sale of all of the common shares of Supremex held by Clarke Inc.
Mr. Robert B. Johnston has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Mr. Johnston currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for The InterTech Group, Inc. in North Charleston, South Carolina and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Supremex since May of 2014. Mr. Johnston also sits on the board of a number of private and publicly-held companies and was previously Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of The Hudson's Bay Company. An affiliate of The InterTech Group, Inc. is the largest shareholder of Supremex.
Mr. Stewart Emerson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Supremex since September 2014. He has held a number of senior management positions with the organization since starting his career at Supremex in 1990. Mr. Emerson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.
Also joining the Company's Board of Directors is Mr. Warren J. White, CPA and MBA graduate from Concordia University. He has held many senior leadership roles for large international manufacturing organizations with responsibilities in information technology, finance, procurement and strategic planning. Before becoming an independent consultant, Mr. White was Senior Vice President, Global Business Engineering at CGI until 2012 and Vice President, Information Technology and Global Procurement at Alcan Aluminum until 2003.
