(NYSE: BCEI) (the "Company") announced today the launch of an underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock, subject to market conditions. The underwriters will have an option to purchase up to an additional 600,000 shares of common stock from the Company. All of the shares to be sold in this offering will be sold by the Company. The underwriters intend to offer the shares from time to time for sale in one or more transactions on the New York Stock Exchange, in the over-the-counter market, through negotiated transactions or otherwise at market prices prevailing at the time of sale, at prices related to prevailing market prices or at negotiated prices.
The Company intends to use a portion of the net proceeds from the offering to repay all of the outstanding borrowings under its revolving credit facility and will use the remainder for general corporate purposes, which may include funding its drilling and development program and other capital expenditures.
