Hemp, Inc. and Dewmar International Showcase Kush Cakes at Cannabis Cup 2015

DEWM, HEMP

LAS VEGAS, April 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), a leader in the industrial hemp industry, is pleased to announce it is, in conjunction with Dewmar International BMC, Inc. (OTC:DEWM), showcasing its hemp-infused Kush Cakes at the 2015 Cannabis Cup, in Denver, Colorado. This event marks the second showcasing, from the joint venture between Hemp, Inc. and Dewmar International BMC, Inc., of the hemp-infused Kush Cakes since its April launch. The event Cannabis Cup (in Denver, April 18 – 20, 2015) is the world's foremost cannabis festival whereby judges from around the world sample and vote for their favorite marijuana "varities". Hemp, Inc. and Dewmar International BMC, Inc. are employing "very aggressive" marketing strategies for its hemp-infused Kush Cakes during the event's rap concerts which tend to draw thousands of attendees.

"The Cannabis Cup is considered to draw the best of the best in the cannabis sector," says Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP). "The Kush Cakes are a success there and were also a huge success at last week's Big Industry Show and Horticulture 360 in Denver. CO… voted the most popular booth at the sold out event." According to Dewmar International BMC, Inc.'s executives, the company took orders for and sold thousands of dollars worth of product at the two-day event and sold over $1,500 worth of Kush Cakes online on the first official day of their launch.

Perlowin continued, "There's already a familiarity with the product so the new and improved product with hemp protein and better packaging is going over great, which in turn is economically beneficial to Hemp, Inc. and its shareholders."

At last week's Big Industry Show, where Perlowin was in attendance, he personally talked to two large distributors interested in ordering a pallet of Kush Cakes. A pallet consists of 10,000 units. "I saw up close and first hand the popularity and the potential of huge sales with this one product alone."

Dr. Marco Moran, CEO of Dewmar International BMC, said, "We have all of our online and show sales orders being shipped out today on 4-20 as a moment to be memorialized in Kush Cakes history. Today and for the next 3 days, I will be in attendance at the MedMJ Denver Conference for HealthCare Professionals. Our team will display a Kush Cakes booth at the Marijuana Investment Summit to raise awareness of the brand among the accredited investor community."

The premium relaxation brownies (Kush Cakes), containing high-quality hemp protein, do not contain THC and are not psychoactive and can be ordered at www.mykushcakes.com.

The entire cannabis industry, medicinal and recreational, and the industrial hemp industry continue to gain more exposure. In fact, Dr. Sanjay Gupta spoke on CNN last night calling it the 'marijuana revolution' as more and more people are awakening to the benefits of what this ancient herb offers.

Weed 3: The Marijuana Revolution which aired last night on CNN reported, "There is now promising research into the use of marijuana that could impact tens of thousands of children and adults, including treatment for cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer's, to name a few. With regard to pain alone, marijuana could greatly reduce the demand for narcotics and simultaneously decrease the number of accidental painkiller overdoses, which are the greatest cause of preventable death in this country."

According to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, there is a "revolution in the attitudes of everyday Americans. For the first time, the majority (53%) favors its legalization, with 77% supporting it for medical purposes."

ABOUT HEMP, INC.'s DECORTICATION PLANT IN NORTH CAROLINA

The warehouse has been updated with the new LED lighting that will house all of the switch gear and electrical components to operate the Temafa decortication line. To see the before and after lighting video, click here. The Temafa engineers are still on schedule to arrive at the facility at the end of the month. The exact date will be known this week. Also set for this week is the installation of the guard lights purchased from Liberated Energy, Inc. (LIBE). David Schmiit, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s subsidiary, The Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC also said Duke Energy made a lot of progress last week in getting the three-phase power to the plant which should be complete in about 3 more weeks, weather permitting.  The equipment is still being moved into its permanent position to allow the engineers to reassemble the decortication machinery.  See Hemp, Inc.'s previous press release on Breaking News for the video updates thus far on the decortication plant.

Hemp, Inc.'s automated Temafa decortication line, which can be used to process raw hemp and Kenaf for the American farmers, is the only one of its magnitude in North America.  The highly coveted decortication line is currently the only commercial, large-scale machine of its kind in North America. According to Perlowin, it would take at least 2 years, minimum, to duplicate the line. Hemp, Inc. and its whole team is committed to the American farmers and plans to continue spearheading a new clean, green American Agricultural and Industrial Revolution based on hemp and hemp products. The decortication and milling plant, is housed in a 70,000 square-foot warehouse (with a 6-inch cement foundation and a refrigerated section).

HEMP, INC.'s TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies from a "Cultural Creative" perspective thereby not exploiting or endangering any group. CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP), Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in "upstreaming" of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator, in which most cases will one day be the American farmer, cultivating natural, sustainable products as an interwoven piece of nature. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits—our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.

HEMP, INC.'S HEMP INDUSTRY UPDATES

Here's a look at material events on 4-20 and a few in the past week concerning the industrial hemp industry:

1. Hemp has suffered from its association with cultivated marijuana - It's hard to believe that pristine rows of budding marijuana plants in high-tech cultivation facilities are the same as bushy ditch weed on the side of the highway, but they are certainly both cannabis. The main separation between the two is their use. Read more (Source: Daily Nebraskan – 4/20/2015)

2. Four Best Reasons to Legalize Hemp - Cannabis has "blazed" a trail into the national spotlight thanks to the legalization battle and provocative new studies on its health benefits. Mounds of research and media events like Dr. Sanjay Gupta's CNN Special Report WEED have shed light on cannabis's potential to treat cancer, seizures, multiple sclerosis (MS), glaucoma, pain and other ailments. However, the entire conversation still revolves around marijuana, the high-THC strain of cannabis that makes you hungry and "high." Little attention has been paid to hemp, the low-THC, high-cannabidiol (CBD) strain that not only has substantial health benefits, but also has enormous potential to benefit our environment. Read more (Source: EcoWatch – 4/20/2015)

3. Hemp Presents an Opportunity for Idaho - Humankind has come a long way in its evolutionary path towards awareness. However, its views on cannabis hemp are still a somewhat touchy subject in the 21st century. 80-year laws governing the plant are being challenged – globally – every single day. Read more (Source: Idaho Business Review – 4/20/2015)

4. Cannabis Culture: An Orion Special Commentary Section on Marijuana - Depending on who a person is, it's either the best or worst thing to have ever happened. Pot has been around for a very, very long time. Apparently a Chinese emperor even used it all the way back in 2727 B.C. And of course, everyone has heard the story that Benjamin Franklin had a hemp farm in his backyard. Honestly, is it that surprising? Only someone who is high as hell would think flying a kite during a lightning storm is a good idea. How could pot not become an integral part of American culture? Now, marijuana is sold in dispensaries in cities all over America. And doctors are basically giving out medical marijuana cards. Read more (Source: TheOrion.com – 4/20/2015)
