Juniper
Networks (NYSE:JNPR), the industry leader in network innovation,
today announced Juniper Design Training and Certification curriculum, a
new offering that teaches best practices and new techniques across
network design, including software-defined networking (SDN) and network
functions virtualization (NFV).
Networks are in a constant state of change. The emergence of automation
has fundamentally changed how networks can and will be designed. Network
designers and administrators are now facing myriad complicated
considerations and options when designing a network, many that did not
exist just a few years ago. Further, the benefits that can be realized
from SDN and NFV have raised the stakes in ensuring a well-designed
network.
Juniper’s Design Curriculum includes a portfolio of trainings and a set
of level-specific design certifications on the latest approaches,
resources and tools that enable companies to build, expand, secure and
automate their networks. The trainings range in topic from the
fundamentals of network design to specific design requirements of data
center and WAN networks. Together with its network engineering and
support-focused courses, Juniper is offering training on the full
network lifecycle – from initial design all the way through ongoing
maintenance.
The new program is available to all existing customers, partners and IT
professionals considering network changes or looking to enhance their
skillset. Juniper’s Design Curriculum also offers specialized trainings
for customers in verticals such as financial services, cloud services,
national government and other customers with complex data center
environments or heightened security concerns.

Supporting Quotes:
“Design and architecture knowledge are key components in solving
IT-based business problems. Many people design networks based on their
limited career experience, but adapting the correct design for the
situation requires that you be skilled in the art of architecture and
design. Architecture and design courses like these from Juniper fill the
gap in knowledge that potential architects have. This enables the
architect to select the right tool for the job at hand.”

“It's fantastic that Juniper now has a design certification track, along
with corresponding training courses. The existing technical courses and
certifications have always built core knowledge on the technologies and
configuration of networks, but there was a need for proper network
architecture and design to go along with it. I am looking forward to
taking the classes.”
- Chris Jones, SDN engineer, SDN Essentials
“The Juniper Design Curriculum is a great way for me to learn the depth
and breadth of the available configurations and technologies for Junos
implementations. The new design track promises to provide the big
picture and context to select the right features for the job and provide
a solid set of principles to guide the discovery of the business needs
to drive that design.”
- Steve Puluka, senior IP engineer, DQE Communications
“I’m really looking forward to completing this new track to ensure that
my understanding of design principles and best practices are on par with
what the industry expects.”
- Nick Ryce, senior network architect, Fluency Communications
“Today’s IT staff are managing complex, constantly changing networks. At
the same time, they are facing an overwhelming range of options to
improve network efficiency and cost-effectiveness through automation.
Juniper’s Design Curriculum offers customers and partners an opportunity
to learn directly from Juniper how to design the best network for their
business as well as receive guidance on how to best take advantage of
the range of network options available.”
