3M and Catheter Connections Inc. announced today that they have settled
the patent infringement litigation in the United States District Courts
of California and Utah and at the United States Patent and Trademark
Office between 3M’s newly acquired Ivera Medical Corp. and Catheter
Connections Inc. The settlement relates to disinfecting port protector
intellectual property, including Catheter Connections’ DualCap System™
products and 3M™ Curos™ products and resolves all disputes between the
two parties. The specific terms of the settlement are confidential.
In a joint statement the two companies commented, “This agreement
between 3M and Catheter Connections ends the legal disputes between our
two companies and enables each company to direct its full energies
toward further innovation and development in the market for products
that disinfect and protect devices used for accessing the patient’s
bloodstream.”
