Signal Advance Expands Its Brain Health Technology Development Team - Adds Decades of Neural Training Experience

SIGL

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Aug 26, 2015) - Signal Advance, Inc. (OTCBB: SIGL), a fully reporting company, is pleased to announce the addition of Harold L. Russell, Ph.D. to its Neural Training System development team of experts. The Neural Training System will integrate auditory, visual, and direct stimulation to, cost-effectively, improve brain function.

Effective Neural Training relies on adjusting stimulator outputs in real-time based on measurements of the brain's response. The long-term goal of the projects is to improve brain health, in particular, with respect to memory and mental processing, for a broad range of individuals of all ages to enhance mental performance including memory and concentration. Signal Advance technology will be used to offset brain signal (EEG) detection and processing delays which is expected to significantly improve training efficacy and efficiency.

Dr. Russell, a long-time member of the Company's advisory board, brings a wealth of knowledge in the area of non-invasive, non-pharmacological enhancement of brain function. During his seventeen years in academia, he served as both assistant professor and consultant at the University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston) and University of Houston -- helping students to learn large amounts of complex information in a dramatically reduced time period.

Over decades of successful private practice, Dr. Russell has accumulated an abundance of knowledge and experience relating to the enhancement of both adolescent and adult cognitive development. Dr. Russell is very familiar with many of the causes of learning problems, having gained a deep understanding of the various ways that brain functioning can contribute to their causes. In his primary research, Dr. Russell designed, patented, and field-tested the technological and training procedures pertaining to the use of electroencephalography (EEG) and audio-visual stimulation (AVS) to promote lasting IQ gains in learning disabled and attention deficit disordered children. These studies, funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education, were overwhelmingly successful as the subjects receiving the Neural Training demonstrated and retained an average increase in IQ of nearly 10 points. Dr. Russell continues his neuro-cognitive studies, having recently received institutional review board approval to explore the possibility that normally developing children may be able to make similar large IQ test score gains.

As a member of the Signal Advance team, Dr. Russell will be a primary catalyst in the Neural Training project assisting in the advancement of audio and visual stimulation aspects of the project. His experience, in conjunction with that of Dr. Hymel, Dr. Skolnick and Mr. Stubbers, will greatly improve the probability that Signal Advance will attain its goal of developing a portable, non-invasive, cost-effective neuro-enhancing training system.

About Signal Advance, Inc.

Signal Advance, Inc. is a fully reporting, emerging technology company that has developed and is now commercializing its proprietary technology to improve performance in signal detection and control systems. Our proprietary Signal Advance technology temporally-advances complex analog signals. In other words, output of a Signal Advance circuit actually precedes the complete detection of the input signal. These "real-world" signals can represent a wide variety of physical properties such as pressure, flow, position, vibration, temperature, pressure, proximity, bioelectric activity (EKG, EEG, etc.). The signal time advance attained could potentially offset or significantly reduce signal detection delays associated with a variety of sensors to improve performance in control, intervention, and/or signal transmission systems. Reducing or offsetting response delays could improve outcomes for medical interventions, increase energy efficiency, reduce emissions, boost manufacturing and production yields and improve targeting accuracy. Target markets include transportation, energy generation/distribution, military defense, manufacturing, industrial process control, medicine and communications.
