HOUSTON, Aug. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- R. The series of economic discussions with Hubbard and the bank's clients include stops in Austin, Texas (Sept. 1) before also stopping in San Antonio (Sept. 1) and Denver (Sept. 24). The fourth city on the tour will be announced soon. The forums, which previously have featured Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and former U.S. President George W. Bush, as well as Hubbard in 2014, are an extension of the bank's efforts to team with individuals and organizations that can offer expertise to the bank's clients in a useful and sophisticated way.

"Glenn Hubbard has had a major influence on U.S. economic and tax policies over the last 20 years," said BBVA Compass Chairman and CEO Manolo Sanchez. "He's also an educator, with a gift for bringing his astonishing range of knowledge to people in ways that they can truly learn from and understand. This will be an invaluable experience for our clients."

The bank, which is based in the Sunbelt and has operations in more than 100 cities, launched its popular economic forum series in late 2012. In addition to Bush and Wozniak, headliners have included former Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers; Erskine Bowles, the White House chief of staff under former President Bill Clinton; and former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson, Bowles' Republican co-chair on President Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

Hubbard is the former chairman of the Council on Economic Advisers under George W. Bush and the deputy assistant secretary of treasury under George H. W. Bush. He has been dean of Columbia's Graduate School of Business since 2004. His commentaries regularly appear in Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Financial Times and the Washington Post, among others, as well as on television and radio.
