Artesian Water Maryland Inducted Into the Cecil County Maryland Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame

ARTNA

NEWARK, Del., Oct. 29, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Artesian Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:ARTNA) announced today that Artesian Water Maryland, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, was inducted into the Cecil County, Maryland Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame on Friday, October 23, 2015 at The Wellwood in Charlestown, Maryland.  The event was created by the Cecil County Chamber and the Cecil County Office of Economic Development to recognize and celebrate the dedication, innovation, economic impact and entrepreneurial spirit displayed by businesses located in or serving in Cecil County.

Artesian Water entered the Maryland market in 2007 with the purchase of the Carpenter’s Point Water Company and subsequently purchased the Mountain Hill Water Company in 2008 and the water assets of the Town of Port Deposit in 2010.  In 2011, Artesian furthered its expansion into Cecil County with the purchase of the County’s water assets.  The company also completed construction of a water main connecting its Delaware water system to the Town of Elkton which provides a consistent supply of water to the Town and a reliable back-up source of supply. In 2013 Artesian completed an interconnection with the town of Chesapeake City which made Artesian the sole supplier of water to the town and surrounding area.

“We are honored at being inducted into the Cecil County Chamber Business Hall of Fame.  Our presence in the County has provided us with many opportunities to not only serve the citizens of the County with quality water and reliable service, but to be a good corporate citizen through our community involvement work,” said Dian C. Taylor, Chair, President and CEO.
