LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20, 2015 /CNW/ - VoIP makes our mobile world go round, and its services market is expected to surpass $130 billion by 2020. However, as the number of networks, users and endpoints within the world's mobile environment continue to expand, the market still faces various limitations and concerns. Voip-Pal.Com, Inc (VPLM), a company that aims to provide a complete telecommunications compliance solution. While the company is aimed to leverage their impressive patent portfolio, what may be the most fascinating revelation about Voip-Pal is that their vision has been in the works for over a decade.

In the early 2000's, Voip-Pal's engineers and scientists predicted a future structure of IP: a complex world of nodes, routers and endpoints requiring that each IP "call" would have to be precisely classified and routed in order to guarantee the functionality within a world-wide system. By the time Voip-Pal acquired Digifonica International Limited in 2013, a company who believed that the internet would be the future of all forms of communication, their idea had become a reality. Today, Voip-Pal's future is being guided by their current CEO and co-founder of Digifonica, Emil Malak.

An Enviable Patent Suite
Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) technology makes communication via the internet possible. However, as the world continues to become increasingly mobile, there are multiple networks, users, and endpoints, needing to stay connected to make phone calls, send text messages, wirelessly send photos and videos, upload instagram photos, and make video calls, something that becomes a very complex task.

Digifonica began developing a suite of fundamental Internet Protocol (IP) tools and processes twelve years ago. The software suite provides solutions to a number of key areas in Internet connectivity, including Routing, Billing and Rating (RBR); Mobile gateway and Uninterrupted Mobile Prototype; Lawful Intercept; and Enhanced 911. All patents were filed and approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Furthermore, Voip-Pal is looking to monetize their expanding patent portfolio. In October, the company was issued patents, including "Determining a Time to Permit a Communications Session to be Conducted (Timing)", "Intercepting Voice over IP Communications and Other Data Communications Application (LI)," "Uninterrupted Transmission of Internet Protocol Transmissions During Endpoint Changes (UI)," and "Producing Routing Messages for Voice Over IP Communications (Messaging)." Also, in the same month, Voip-Pal extended the company's protection of its technology beyond American soil with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office approval of the company's Canadian Patent Application No. 2668025: "Producing Routing Messages for Voice over IP Communications (RBR)."

The Future of Telecommunications
The world envisioned by Voip-Pal's leadership and engineers has increasingly become the status quo. For big tech companies fueled by advertising dollars and companies that require the ability to work in a multiple node, multiple subscriber, and mobile complex of networks, like mobile payment and credit card companies, Voip-Pal's solutions suite will become just that: the status quo.

The recent EU Court's "Safe Harbour" Ruling will likely be the catalyst that makes companies like Facebook Inc., Google Inc., and Amazon.com Inc. seek alternative solutions, like telecommunications services to bridge the possible revenue gaps that are caused by the impediment to safe harbor.

Also, Voip-Pal's patent suite has the potential to help law enforcement and public service agencies save lives. Their Enhanced 911 patent allows emergency response to quickly and efficiently providing help to those using a VoIP phone or messaging service. Lawful intercept gives law enforcement the tools to fight against to protect law abiding citizens from various crimes such as money laundering and fraud.

Becoming a fully compliant wireless Telco will be a crucial step to surviving and thriving in an internet and mobile dependent society. The technology and IP of Voip-Pal are crucial solutions that businesses and consumers will not be able to effectively function without. Where will social networking companies and telco operators stand with VoIP-Pal's suite of patents?
