Imperus Reports Revenue of $5.9 Million and Adjusted Ebitda of $1.8 Million for the Third Quarter of 2015

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 30, 2015) - Imperus Technologies Corp. ("Imperus" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:LAB)(FRANKFURT:ISX)(FRANKFURT WKN:A12B58) reports its financial results for the third quarter of 2015 (the three month period ended September 30, 2015).

HIGHLIGHTS

Diwip Ltd. ("Diwip") generated revenue of $5.90 million and $17.49 million on a stand -alone basis for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2015 respectively and adjusted EBITDA of $2.82 million and $5.78 million respectively (see Non-IFRS measures). As Imperus acquired Diwip on January 30, 2015, Diwip's January 2015 results are not consolidated into the Imperus financial statements.
   
Adjusted EBITDA for the Company for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2015 was $1.82 million and $2.67 million respectively compared to $0.23 million and $0.73 million for the three and six month ended June 30, 2015 (see Non-IFRS measures).
   
The Company substantially grew its Adjusted EBITDA growth in Q3 2015 through:
  Its strategic decision to focus on its consumer offering in the social casino market and exit business lines which are non-core to the social casino opportunity;
  Beginning a comprehensive initiative at Diwip to use predictive analytics and customer segmentation to improve retention and grow customer value while reducing inefficient marketing spending
   
The quarter also saw the launch of the Company's "Best Vegas Slots" game on both Canvas and Mobile, with promising initial results.

Subsequent Events - Akamon Acquisition

  • Subsequent to the end of the third quarter, the Company completed its acquisition of the issued and outstanding shares of Akamon Entertainment Millennium, S.L. ("Akamon"), a leading developer and operator of social casino games in the Spanish and Latin American markets. 
  • Akamon, a leading developer and operator of social casino games in the Spanish and Latin American markets, grew its unaudited adjusted EBITDA in Q3 2015 to approximately $1.1 million, an increase of 35% over the same quarter in the prior year. Its Q3 results are consistent with its strong historical track record of year-over-year growth.
  • All key management of Akamon have been retained by the Company. 
  • With the completion of the Akamon acquisition, the Company will focus on synergies between Diwip and Akamon which include applying Akamon's leading customer relationship management and player management methodologies to the Diwip player base, and rich cross-selling opportunities that will be created through a vastly expanded base of players and game library.

Financial Results and Non-IFRS Measures

Imperus has not audited the financial results of Diwip or audited or reviewed the financial results of Akamon. The Company has included certain Non-IFRS performance measures, namely EBITDA and adjusted EBITDA and working capital, within this document. The Company believes that, in addition to conventional measures prepared in accordance with IFRS, we and certain investors use this information to evaluate the Company's performance and ability to generate cash, profits and meet financial commitments. These Non-IFRS measures are intended to provide additional information and should not be considered in isolation or as a substitute for measures of performance prepared in accordance with IFRS.

EBITDA is defined as "Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization". Adjusted EBITDA takes into consideration unusual expenses that do not reflect operations. EBITDA does not include the discontinued operations of Vast and Tech Channel. The following tables provide a reconciliation to Operating Loss on the Statements of Consolidated Income/(Loss) and Comprehensive Income/(Loss) for the three, six and nine months ended September 30, 2015 and June 30, 2014 as reported in our condensed interim consolidated financial statements.
