OMAHA, NE--(Marketwired - Feb 9, 2016) - Solutionary, an NTT Group security company and leading cyber security services provider, today announced the appointment of Steven Bullitt as the company's Vice President, Cyber Forensics and Investigations. Bullitt brings a unique government perspective to Solutionary's executive management and threat intelligence incident response teams; he began his career as a special agent with the United States Secret Service in July 1995 and was selected as the supervisor of the Dallas Field Office North Texas Electronic Crimes Task Force in January of 2010. In his most recent government role, Bullitt oversaw all United States Secret Service cyber and criminal investigations throughout northern Texas. Bullitt will report to Solutionary president Mike Hrabik. Steven's responsibilities will include developing and expanding Solutionary partnerships with government, and law enforcement, as well as other cyber security and threat intelligence communities. Steven will also provide insight and analysis to Solutionary clients and the public about critical security trends and defense techniques.
"Our business requires continued expansion of global threat intelligent alliances and cooperation with government and law enforcement to defend against adversary tactics and techniques," said Mike Hrabik, president, Solutionary. "Steven's cyber and criminal investigation background gives him a unique perspective on the threat landscape. His forensic investigations into major breaches provides him with an understanding of the threat actors' motive and techniques along with effective defense strategies, and his leadership will be key in the development and expansion of our relationships with law enforcement and government.
As a Secret Service supervisor, Bullitt wrote the original business plan for the National Computer Forensic Institute in Hoover, Alabama in 2007 -- a first-of-its-kind facility that has trained over 1,000 officers in cutting-edge cyber warfare practices. That same year, Bullitt also headed up the United States Secret Service's only cell phone forensic facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bullitt has written several nationally published advisories for the United States Secret Service including the agency's "Incident Response and Planning Strategies When Notifying Law Enforcement of a Cyber-Intrusion."
"The opportunity to help manage and grow the company's global security services to better work with law enforcement facilities and other security partners worldwide, is what brought me to Solutionary's doorstep," said Bullitt. "My deep experience has allowed me to understand how the government combats cybercrime. I have always had a clear view of how the private sector needed to remediate and mitigate attacks from the other side and am looking forward to applying that knowledge towards new strategies that will help in the fight against cybercrime in the private sector."
Bullitt earned his master's degree in forensic science computer fraud investigation from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
