WINNIPEG, MB--(Marketwired - March 22, 2016) - The Boards of Directors of IGM Financial Inc. ("IGM") (TSX: IGM) and Investors Group Inc. ("Investors Group") announced today Murray J. Taylor's intention to retire at the Annual Meeting of the company after serving for 40 years with the Power Financial group of companies, including the last 12 years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Investors Group. Jeffrey R. Carney, CFA, will be appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Investors Group, effective at the Annual Meeting. Mr. Carney will also become President and Chief Executive Officer of IGM Financial Inc., a position he has shared jointly with Mr. Taylor for the past three years.

Mr. Carney was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mackenzie Financial Corporation ("Mackenzie") in May, 2013, after more than 25 years of experience in the investment management and banking industries in Canada and the U.S. This experience includes senior executive positions in some of the most successful financial organizations in North America. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University.
The Board is engaged in a process to select a new President and Chief Executive Officer of Mackenzie.
