NTT Communications Launches SAP HANA Menu on Enterprise Cloud

NTTYY

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within NTT (NYSE:NTT), announced today that it has launched SAP HANA Menu, a scalable option to incorporate SAP's in-memory database management system SAP HANA® on its Enterprise Cloud service. By leveraging NTT Com's seamless cloud solutions, enterprises expanding their business globally can deploy core systems including SAP HANA for a short term and at low cost. The service is currently available in Japan and will be available in other countries by the end of 2016.

Advantages

  • Scalable service with no initial cost, no minimum service requirements
Service fees are calculated according to the period of use, with no initial cost or minimum service requirements, so customers can get access to the SAP HANA environment for the time they need without having to purchase the full appliance, as was previously required.
  • TDI model that meets SAP's quality and availability standards
NTT Com delivers the service as a SAP HANA set based on Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI), using SAP HANA Menu installed on a bare-metal server on its Enterprise Cloud, and NFS-compatible file storage, offering speedy processing of volumetric files. NFS is a distributed file protocol used in UNIX OX. The TDI model supplies SAP HANA-verified hardware such as storage, network components and servers, significantly reducing implementation time and giving customers quick and stable access to the system as a development, verification and production environment.
  • Globally standardized specification
By offering the SAP HANA Menu option on Enterprise Cloud, NTT Com is able to globally and uniformly deliver Global Management One, the cloud platform and management service for SAP HANA. This integrates global governance and reduces total IT operations and maintenance costs for expanding enterprises. SAP has certified NTT Com as an SAP Outsourcing Operations Provider in the Hosting, SAP HANA and Cloud Services categories.

The SAP HANA Set 256GB plan comprising bare-metal server service, file storage service and SAP HANA Menu solution package, is available from 276,800 JPY, or approximately 2,500 USD, per month excluding tax. A 512GB plan is planned to be available from May. The TDI model includes the bare-metal server, File Storage Premium, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 for SAP HANA and SAP HANA Enterprise Edition 1.0. Customers are required to have the software license for SAP HANA Enterprise Edition 1.0 including monitoring and operating hardware, all of which is included in the price.

NTT Com launched a greatly strengthened Enterprise Cloud in Japan on March 1 and in the UK on March 22, and shortly intends to launch the expanded service in Singapore and the US, with more countries to follow. SAP HANA Set is scheduled to be rolled out along with the expanded Enterprise Cloud service in those areas.

The price conversions calculated at a rate of 113 JPY to USD.
