“Matching the generosity of our employees through the Ecolab Foundation
encourages our employees to give and increases our positive impact on
communities across the U.S.,” said Shannon Toren, Ecolab’s community
relations director of employee engagement and manager of the national
campaign.
The United Way and its local chapters are the largest non-governmental
funders of health and human service programs in the U.S. and rely on
contributions from individuals and corporations to provide critical
funding to their comprehensive network of programs and services.
Paul DeBassio, executive vice president of Investor Relations for United
Way Worldwide said, “For 30 years, Ecolab has supported the United Way
in communities where their employees live and work. Through giving and
volunteering, Ecolab employees help strengthen local communities. The
Ecolab match multiplies the generosity of individual giving. United Way
thanks Ecolab for its long-standing partnership in communities across
the country.”
“As our company continues to grow, so does the generosity of our
employees. I am excited that we’ve added four new United Way matching
partnerships this year in Clearing, Ill., with United Way of
Metropolitan Chicago; Freeport, Texas, with United Way of Brazoria
County; Grapevine, Texas, with United Way of Denton County; and Green
Tree, Pa., with United Way of Allegheny County,” added Toren.
Ecolab began its community giving campaign in 1986. In the past five
years, the Ecolab Foundation has matched more than $4.2 million of
employee contributions.
