MAHWAH, N.J., June 02, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Myntex has fought back against massive cyber-attacks it has endured from multiple, simultaneous
attackers with Cloud DDoS Protection Services from Radware® (NASDAQ:RDWR), a leading provider of cyber security and application delivery
solutions ensuring optimal service level for applications in virtual, cloud, and software-defined data centers.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Myntex is a leading provider of trusted encryption solutions. The company takes great care to
ensure its customers’ privacy and security across its suite of encrypted mobile communication devices.
When hit with a series of massive DDoS attacks in April that combined numerous attack vectors, Myntex experienced severe service
interruptions. At the time, the company utilized standard security methods and protocols in conjunction with other DDoS providers
that offered poor customer service and couldn’t prevent downtime. The attack campaign lasted a month and involved Advanced
Persistent Denial of Service Attacks (APDoS), which included multi-vector burst DDoS attacks at massive sizes ranging from 40Gbps
to 130Gbps.
“Security threats come from all sides. Not only are underground hackers attempting to breach companies’ systems, but DDoS
attacks are growing larger and more sophisticated where only a handful of companies can defend against them,” said Geoff Green,
President and CEO for Myntex. “If we can’t defend against these attacks, our customers take the brunt of the damage, since their
service is disrupted and communication is lost on their mobile devices. They’re left with little trust in the product being
offered.”
Myntex selected Radware’s Cloud Security Services to help it take back control of the situation. Radware’s Emergency Response
Service team began working with Myntex on April 21st.
“Given the magnitude of the attack we faced, we chose Radware to mitigate the DDoS attack campaigns against us,” said Green. “We
were immediately able to regain normal operation during the cyber-attacks. Many APDoS and DDoS attacks have been thwarted and
mitigated since the service was activated, including two massive attacks of 130 Gbps and 113 Gbps. Radware provides exactly what it
sells: DDoS protection with minimal to zero downtime.”
Operated by Radware’s Emergency Response Team, Radware’s Cloud Security Services provided enterprise-grade cloud protection
services from multi-vector threats to prevent outages and minimize service-level degradation. Radware’s Cloud Security Service
accurately detected and mitigated the attacks on Myntex within a few minutes, without inducing any service delays and without
blocking any legitimate user traffic. Real-time reporting and monitoring kept Myntex apprised of the situation.
“There is an evident surge in the last few months in ‘hit-and-run’ burst volumetric DDoS attacks aiming to disrupt normal
enterprise business operations,” said Haim Zelikovsky, Vice President of Cloud Business for Radware. “Radware’s 2015 ERT Report
found a significant 27 percent increase in the number of massive burst DDoS attacks from 2014. These attacks target the weak links
in enterprises’ connection to the Internet, causing major service disruptions. With over 2Tbps of total attack mitigation capacity,
Radware’s global Cloud Security Network is designed to detect and mitigate these attacks while assuring normal business
operation.”
“Successfully mitigating such massive cyber-attacks without any disruption to normal business operations requires experienced
and skilled personnel,” said Carl Herberger, Vice President of Security Solutions for Radware, “Radware’s Cloud Security Services
are fully managed by Radware’s ‘battle-proven’ Emergency Response Team, which assumes full end-to-end responsibility for
configuring the security policies, detecting and mitigating cyber-attacks, and alerting and reporting the attacks in real time.
This allows our customers to maintain normal business operations during cyber-attacks.”
