Worst Performing Industries For June 16, 2016

The Dow fell 0.88 percent to 17,485.81, while the NASDAQ composite index declined 1.12 percent to 4,780.73. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 0.99 percent to 2,051.03.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Building Materials Wholesale: This industry slipped 2.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was BlueLinx Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BXC), which fell 7.2 percent. BlueLinx shares have dropped 25.24 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 2.34 percent in the same period.

Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry declined 2.4 percent by 11:00 am with Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd (ADR) (NYSE: YZC) moving down 4.5 percent. Yanzhou Coal Mining shares have declined 37.51 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has slipped 2.34 percent in the same period.

Cement: This industry fell 2.2 percent by 11:00 am ET. CRH PLC (ADR) (NYSE: CRH) shares dropped 2.4 percent in today's trading. CRH shares have slipped 1.98 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has dropped 2.34 percent in the same period.

Home Furnishing Stores: The industry dropped 2.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc (NYSE: RH), which declined 3.5 percent.
