Kornit Digital Announces New Chief Technology Officer and Retirement of Current CTO

KRNT

ROSH-HA`AYIN, Israel, June 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kornit Digital Ltd. (NASDAQ:KRNT), a leading provider of digital printing solutions for the global printed textile industry, today announced the retirement of Ofer Ben-Zur as the Company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the appointment of a new CTO, Dr. Nuriel Amir, Ph.D. Mr. Ben-Zur, who founded Kornit Digital in 2002, will continue to serve on Kornit’s Board of Directors. He will also remain with the Company in a consulting capacity for at least the next six-months to oversee a transition of responsibilities.

Dr. Nuriel Amir, Ph.D., will join Kornit as Chief Technology Officer effective July 1, 2016. Dr. Amir brings more than 29 years of technology leadership experience to Kornit, most recently as Technology Director at KLA Tencor. Prior to that, Dr. Amir served as Director of R&D leading the development and transfer to production of 45mm NOR Technology at Numonyx, which was acquired by Micron Corporation. Dr. Amir spent 11 years at Intel Corporation, prior to the acquisition of Numonyx, in a variety of leadership positions in R&D, transfer to production, process integration, yield, device, labs and Q&R. During his career, Dr. Amir has taught at multiple universities in Israel after earning his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the microelectronic research center at the Technion. Dr. Amir has produced 40 publications and holds 20 current and pending patents under his name.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Ben-Zur added, “It has been an honor to help lead Kornit through its many milestones to become an industry leader and a publicly-traded growth company. I look forward to contributing to the Company’s success through a thoughtful transition and as a Director on the Company’s Board. Our tireless work over the past several years has helped to build a world class research and development team capable of expanding Kornit’s product and technology offerings in order to take advantage of the continued growth of our sector. There is no doubt that Dr. Amir brings a great strategic fit to help lead these efforts.”

Gabi Seligsohn, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “I would like to thank Ofer for 13 amazing years with Kornit. As founder of the Company, Ofer led Kornit from an idea to a leadership position in a fast growing market which he helped define. Having worked closely together for the last two years, I am grateful for his contributions to our success and am very pleased that he will remain as a member of our Board and as an interim advisor to the Company.”

Mr. Seligsohn continued, “I would also like to welcome Nuriel to the Kornit Team. Nuriel’s rich background in technology development positions him well to lead our long-term efforts. We remain in the early stages of a textile printing shift to digital technology, and Nuriel’s background in bringing world class, disruptive technology to market will be a strong catalyst to our future progress. With the support of a strong research and development team we have built over the past few years, we believe we are well positioned to develop broader leadership across digital printing categories.”
