At 10:30 am, the Dow fell 0.19 percent to 18,419.71, the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index moved down 0.20 percent to 2,171.77 and the NASDAQ composite index dropped 0.14 percent to 5,215.49.

The industries that are still afloat in the market today are:

  • Foreign Money Center Banks: This industry gained 1.6 percent by 10:30 am. The top stock within the industry was Banco Santander, S.A. (ADR) (NYSE: SAN), which gained 3 percent. Deutsche Bank upgraded Banco Santander from Hold to Buy.
