MADISON, Wis., March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Schwinn, a
brand of Dorel Industries, Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), launched the Sivica [pronounced: siv-ik-a], a bike designed for everyday
adventures. Available in single-speed and 7-speed versions, with a variety of colors for both men and women, there is a Sivica
for everyone.
"The Schwinn Sivica is designed for the recreational rider. They're looking for a bike that complements their lifestyle and
fits their individuality. They want an easy ride that makes them feel comfortable, and in control," said Milissa Rick, Senior Director of Marketing, Schwinn.
The Schwinn Sivica combines classic styling and Relaxed Position-Plus Geometry. The slackened riding position of Relaxed
Position-Plus Geometry creates the proper leg extension for ease of pedaling and efficiency while allowing the rider to touch the
ground when seated. The saddle is positioned back and set low while the top tube is lengthened for a riding posture that is
relaxed and creates a stronger feeling of balance for the rider. The bottom bracket is positioned slightly forward also
aiding in leg extension and pedaling efficiency.
"We paid very close attention to the Sivica's design details and color offerings. We wanted to be sure the bike would match
any style without being too defined," said Josh Vick, Director of Schwinn Product. "With its eight
different colors including Mango, Coral, Teal and Blue, there's a Sivica suited to all styles and personalities."
The Schwinn Sivica is now available at independent bike dealers nationwide. The Sivica 1 (single-speed) will retail for
$419.99, while the Sivica 7 (7-speed) will retail for $459.99.
