About Protagonist Therapeutics, Inc.
Protagonist Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with a proprietary technology platform which it uses to
develop novel peptide drugs that address biological targets that have typically been approached by injectable antibody drugs.
Protagonist's oral peptide product candidates, PTG-100 and PTG-200, have the potential for improved safety and compliance when
compared to their approved antibody counterparts, given they have minimal exposure in the blood and improved convenience, thereby
presenting an opportunity for earlier introduction of targeted therapy for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). PTG-100 is currently
in Phase 2b clinical trials for moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis, and the company plans to initiate clinical trials of
PTG-200 during 2017 as a potential treatment for Crohn's disease. Protagonist also plans to initiate clinical trials during 2017
of an injectable hepcidin mimetic, PTG-300, for the treatment of iron overload disorders such as beta-thalassemia, an indication
which may qualify it for orphan drug designation.
Protagonist is headquartered in Milpitas, California with its pre-clinical and clinical
development staff in California, and discovery operations both in California and in Brisbane, Queensland,
Australia. For further information, please visit http://www.protagonist-inc.com.
