PETALUMA, Calif., July 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH), a global energy technology company and the world’s leading
supplier of solar microinverters, announced today additional validation that the Company’s newest products are ready for the smart
grid requirements in the California and Hawaii markets.
Enphase IQ Microinverters, released in the U.S. earlier this year, received UL1741SA certification for compliance with
California Rule 21 which requires additional advanced grid functionality (AGF), effective September 8, 2017. This includes the IQ6
Microinverter, IQ6+ Microinverter, and Enphase Energized™ AC Modules that integrate these microinverters. The initial set of AGF
requirements include voltage and frequency ride-through, extending the times that solar energy systems can continue to operate
while grid conditions are in flux, as well as methods of reactive power control to help regulate grid voltage.
In addition, Enphase secured Material and Methods (MM#) expedited approval process integration with Hawaiian Electric Co.’s
Department of Planning and Permitting, allowing Enphase energy storage project applications to move more quickly through the
permitting process. The Enphase AC Battery was introduced in the U.S. in January 2017. This faster processing time enables Enphase
customers to install solar + storage systems that meet the requirements of the customer self-supply program.
"Both of these announcements reinforce the value our newest products bring to key solar markets like California and Hawaii,”
said Paul Nahi, president and CEO of Enphase Energy. "These are trendsetter markets for solar, so it’s likely we’ll see similar
developments in other states in the future, and Enphase is ready.”
With over 150 patents, Enphase continues to drive differentiation through innovation and meeting the changing needs of
residential solar customers.
