MENLO PARK, Calif., May 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. (NASDAQ:PACB) today
announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2018.
Total revenue for the first quarter of 2018 was $19.4 million, compared to $24.9 million for the first quarter of 2017.
Gross profit for the first quarter of 2018 was $7.3 million, resulting in a gross margin of 38%. Gross profit for the first
quarter of 2017 was $8.9 million, resulting in a gross margin of 36%.
Operating expenses for the first quarter of 2018 totaled $31.2 million, compared to $32.2 million for the first quarter of 2017.
Operating expenses for the first quarter of 2018 and 2017 included non-cash stock-based compensation of $4.6 million and $4.5
million, respectively.
Net loss for the first quarter of 2018 was $24.2 million, compared to $23.9 million for the first quarter of 2017.
Cash, cash equivalents and investments, excluding restricted cash, at March 31, 2018 totaled $79.3 million, compared to $62.9
million at December 31, 2017.
