Enhancements include airport lounge access, mobile device insurance, NEXUS rebate and more
travel-related protection
TORONTO, Sept. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) is
adding new travel benefits to its premium Aventura® cards at no additional cost to clients this fall. Cardholders can
look forward to a bundle of enhancements to help create meaningful travel experiences.
Aventura clients will soon enjoy new features including:
- Access to 1,200+ airport lounges across the globe, with a Priority Pass™ membership and four complementary lounge entries
per year
- Rebate on NEXUS* application fee
- Mobile device insurance – coverage up to $1,000 for lost, stolen or accidentally damaged
devices – at home or away
- Improved trip cancellation insurance
- Hotel burglary insurance
"With these new benefits, we're looking to give clients a frictionless travel experience. They complement the existing
features that our clients love – like free, personalized trip planning with the Aventura Travel Assistant, and the flexibility to
use points for any airline, any flight – to help them get the most out of their travel," says Prashant
Sharma, Senior Vice President, Cards, CIBC.
The Aventura card enhancements will be available to new and existing clients starting October
15.
CIBC is also introducing an innovative and convenient way for clients to control their credit cards on the go. With a new lock
and unlock feature, clients can instantly lock their card through online and mobile banking to prevent new transactions if they
think the card may be lost or stolen.
"We're committed to delivering digital capabilities that provide our clients greater convenience to manage their
banking, including the ability to easily protect their credit cards, giving them instant peace of mind whether at home or
travelling," says Sharma.
The lock and unlock feature will be available on all CIBC credit cards.
