Secureworks Named a ‘Leader’ in the IDC MarketScape for Incident Readiness, Response and Resiliency

Secureworks® (NASDAQ: SCWX), a leading global cybersecurity company that keeps organizations safe in the digitally connected world, has been named a ‘Leader’ in the IDC MarketScape: U.S. Incident Readiness, Response, and Resiliency Services 2018 Vendor Assessment — Beyond the Big 5 Consultancies1. Secureworks was one of just 19 vendors invited to participate in the IDC assessment which looked at technical acumen, security technology, security operational management, and threat visibility.

Secureworks was recognized for its integrated approach to detection, response and management capabilities, its use of machine learning and analytics to decrease impact on human analysts, and its automated processes that speed response times.

“Secureworks is pleased to be named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape report, which reflects our depth of experience and technical capabilities to deliver both faster response times and tailored proactive services to clients around the globe,” says Jeffrey Carpenter, Senior Director of Threat Intelligence and Incident Response (IR) at Secureworks. “Our IR services leverage high-fidelity threat intelligence and analytics ? including our own Red Cloak™ behavioral analytics ? to enable incident readiness, early identification and rapid response, which in turn allow our skilled teams to focus on helping clients return to business operations.“

Secureworks has offered a range of IR services since 2007, and the portfolio continues to adapt with the cyber threat environment, helping global organizations continuously elevate their cybersecurity postures and resiliency to cyber incidents. Secureworks IR services include Emergency Incident Response, Targeted Threat Hunting Assessments, IR Exercises, and IR Planning. All of these capabilities will be showcased this week at Secureworks Access 2018, the organization’s premier thought leadership conference.

According to the IDC MarketScape, “Secureworks was rated quite well by customer references. In addition, IDC feels that Secureworks' containment readiness planning process is quite comprehensive across the client's operational, business, and future resilience elements.”

As one of the few pure-play cybersecurity providers in the assessment, Secureworks has emphasized delivering intelligence-driven analysis, response, and consulting services for tailored defense-in-concert outcomes. This industry-recognized approach integrates the learnings from IR consulting engagements and frontline client services into Secureworks platforms and methodologies, resulting in integrated workflows between IR responders and analysts in Secureworks’ Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offering. In addition, Secureworks’ IR strategy fuels the recently-launched Red CloakTM Partner Program, and the company’s IR expertise has enabled the extension of automated investigation and response workflows into unique client environments, laying the groundwork for a security orchestration solution launch in early 2019.

Secureworks conducted more than 950 IR preparedness, threat hunting, and emergency response engagements across all industry verticals in 2017, and the key lessons learned from those outcomes have been made available to the public in its 2018 Incident Response Insights Report.
