NEW YORK and SHORT HILLS, N.J., Oct.
29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Dun & Bradstreet and Virtue Foundation have entered into a strategic relationship that
integrates Dun & Bradstreet data and analytics with Virtue Foundation's Data Mapping Initiative. A tool that maps the
developing world to help identify needs and deploy resources, the Data Mapping Initiative seeks to create an open-source
marketplace that uses predictive analytics, big data, and cloud computing to match those needs with available medical care. The
corporate social responsibility partnership, a first for both entities, also marks a step toward one of the U.N.'s Sustainable
Development Goals that calls for more multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, and
technology.
"Dun & Bradstreet is proud to contribute to and support the Data Mapping Initiative because we know the power of data and
analytics to solve problems and to do good in the world," said Dun & Bradstreet's Chief Legal Officer & Head of Global
Corporate Citizenship, Chris Hill. "Our corporate citizenship is focused on the underserved and
underrepresented, which is why fueling Virtue Foundation's efforts to support people in need, including improving women's global
health, is so important."
"We, at Virtue Foundation, know that creating an efficient marketplace for the delivery of healthcare through big data and
predictive analytics can dramatically change the quality of life for many living in underserved regions of the world." said Dr.
Joan LaRovere, Co-Founder and Vice President of Virtue Foundation. "We are delighted to
partner with Dun & Bradstreet, a global leader in big data, on the Virtue Foundation Data Mapping Initiative.
Together we have the possibility to significantly improve the lives of those most in need."
The Virtue Foundation Data Mapping Initiative is a forward-thinking technology platform that seeks to create a more efficient
marketplace for the delivery of healthcare in under-served regions of the world. Born of years of on the ground medical
missions, the platform leverages predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms to analyze geospatial
data, infrastructure, risk factors, and other environmental conditions to better predict need and match available resources.
Through a simple and free user interface, the platform seeks to provide individuals, non-profits, governments, and
companies with more efficient access to the data needed to help make critical decisions on how to most efficiently
allocate resources for greatest impact.
In September, Virtue Foundation was among the technology organizations that demonstrated their emerging solutions at a Dun
& Bradstreet-hosted interactive event that explored how data and technology are empowering the developing world. Hill also
joined LaRovere at Seneca Women's annual Fast Forward Women's Innovation Forum in New York City.
The Forum consisted of conversations about power, purpose and innovating through technology and they participated in a panel
discussion focused on the Data Mapping initiative.
