Dassai Announces Collaboration with Artist Kevin Abosch

London, United Kingdom--(Newsfile Corp. - June 22, 2022) - Celebrating a crossroads of both tradition and technology, Irish contemporary artist Kevin Abosch has partnered with premium Japanese sake producer Asahi Shuzo in a unique collaboration. Creating a series of artworks, collectors will be given an opportunity to also claim bottles of a limited, exclusive, and premium Dassai product being produced for the initiative.

The collaboration will see Kevin Abosch create a collection of 1989 unique and original 1 of 1 artworks, the result of the artist's engagement with millions of data-points related to both the Dassai sake brewing process and Asahi Shuzo's values. Inspired by Abosch's art, Asahi Shuzo will in turn create a limited, corresponding run of this specially brewed premium sake. Previous limited editions from the brand have been highly sought after, one bottle fetching 843,750 yen ($8,026) at auction in Hong Kong.

Along with the works of art, these limited-edition bottles will be shipped to collectors worldwide.

However, technology alone cannot produce great sake. Where many of their competitors employ mass automation in their production processes, Asahi Shuzo understand the importance of craft and the human touch. Their sake is produced in small batches to maintain quality and much of the brewing process is still done by hand, even the washing of the rice and the separating of every grain prior to fermentation. It is this attention to detail and dedication to quality that has resulted in products of unparalleled taste.

J.Harry Edmiston, said: "We both curate and empower artists with the brands that we work with, in turn building both a creator and collector community sharing similar values to support one another. We are a community built on a shared want to deliver valuable, meaningful, and impactful projects that push boundaries, give back and set a precedent of artistic integrity that we feel should be universally aspirational. This collaboration is exactly that."
