Trump Media & Technology Group (NASDAQ:DJT) traded gains and losses in Friday trading after the guilty verdict of its owner, former U.S. president Donald Trump.
Trump was convicted Thursday on all 34 felony charges of falsifying business records related to a hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Speaking to reporters in New York at Trump Tower the day after the conviction, he said he would have liked to have testified on the stand, but didn’t, even though he had a right to do so. He claimed to have raised US$34.8 million in donations.
He still faces three more criminal cases:
- Taking classified national defense documents from the White House
- Attempting to exploit the violence and chaos at the U.S. Capitol to reverse the 2020 election results on Jan. 6, 2021
- Election subversion via Georgia prosecutors
Trump Media operates the Truth Social alt-tech platform and reported its Q1 2024 results earlier this month, highlighted by an operating loss of US$12.1 million.
