Buzz on the Bullboards: Biotech back in the spotlight (T.PLI)

On July 25th, the Stockhouse Community was alerted to a spike in activity on one of the Stockhouse Bullboards: Theralase Technologies Inc (TSX: V.TLT). Despite the summer months generally being quieter for markets and investors, the TLT Bullboard at Stockhouse was consistently drawing big numbers in terms of read totals.

Three weeks later, activity is still brisk on the Theralase Bullboard. However, the top of the Bullboard rankings has been taken over in recent days by another biotech company with a strong following on Stockhouse: ProMetic Life Sciences Inc. (TSX: PLI).

Like Theralase, Prometic is also in healthcare. Today, the big news is a new joint venture between PLI and Shenzen Royal Asset Management Co. (SRAM), of China. The JV centers on licensing rights in China for three of the pharmaceutical products in Prometic’s drug pipeline.

SRAM is committing $33 million in funding, with $23 million receivable in the second half of 2017. The drugs are targeting “pulmonary and liver fibrosis”.

While biotech has been the biggest draw on the Bullboards in recent weeks, as always the Stockhouse audience has their fingers in a number of different pies. Cannabis remains a strong topic of interest, with several well-known names still appearing regularly on the Bullboard rankings (Canopy Growth Corp, Aprhia Inc).

But Stockhouse is also a mining site, and mining investors have not been taking the summer off, either. One of the consistent leaders in the Bullboard reports over the past few weeks has been Novo Resources Corp. (TSX: V.NVO).

Novo Resources Corp is a junior gold exploration company with operations in both Australia and the U.S. That company has produced a steady flow of announcements from its “Karratha” operations in Western Australia in recent days. The stock was up 26.9% on the day, and has more than quadrupled over the past two months.

Tech, cannabis, or mining? Whatever your area of interest as an investor, you can probably learn more by spending some time on the Stockhouse Bullboards.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Theralase Technologies Inc is a paid client of Stockhouse Publishing.
