After cannabis stocks consolidated over a quiet summer, many of these stocks are once again powering higher. For both Stockhouse readers and Bullboard users, it may seem like “all cannabis, all the time” at the moment. But that’s where investor interest is currently focused.

Recent editions of Buzz on the Bullboards have reported this renewed feeding frenzy for cannabis stocks. The first company to be noted was none other than Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX: WEED, OTCQB: TWMJF, Forum) , who topped the Bullboard rankings for several days as its share price took off several weeks earlier.

Next in focus was Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB, OTCQB: ACBFF, Forum) ACB’s stock has recently performed even better, and Stockhouse investors were congregating to discuss this big move. Aurora has been at the top of the Bullboard rankings several times over recent days.

However, even as Aurora has continued to draw big hit totals on its Stockhouse Bullboard, yet another high-flying cannabis stock has seen a spike in its Bullboard traffic as discussions heat up: Isodiol International Inc. (CSE: ISOL, OTCQB: ISOLF, Forum). A picture is worth a thousand words.

Earlier this month, ISOL was trading at under $0.30/share. Today, it’s trading around $0.90, after soaring to a 52-week high of $1.37. What is stoking investor interest and this rising share price? Several significant developments.

On November 14, 2017; Isodiol announced the sales launch of a unique cannabidiol product: the world’s first cannabidiol product not taken from the cannabis plant. Instead, ISOL is pioneering the extraction of cannabidiol (CBD) from the hops plant.

On November 17, the Company announced acquiring international licensing rights for IsoDerm™. This is a unique delivery system to deliver medication via the back of a patients neck, from a topical cream. Then, yesterday, Isodiol announced closing on its acquisition of Bradley’s Bioscience Inc. Bradley’s is involved in the hemp oil and nicotine e-liquids market.

While today Isodiol is in second spot in the Top-10 ranking, it has also occupied pole position on more than one occasion. What pulled Aurora back to the top?

Readers of the last edition of Buzz on the Bullboards may recall an unfolding cannabis soap opera. Aurora Cannabis made an unsolicited offer for CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. (TSX: CMED, OTCQB: CMMDF, Forum). By coincidence, this occurred at precisely the same time that CanniMed was trying to close on an acquisition of its own: Newstrike Resources Ltd. (TSX: V.HIP, OTCQB: NWKRF, Forum).

Today, there is no news from Aurora. However, a news release from CanniMed Therapeutics is announcing the formation of a “Special Committee” to review the unsolicited offer from Aurora. What makes this intriguing is that:

  1. CanniMed has since announced the acquisition of Newstrike
  2. The unsolicited offer from Aurora specifically states that if CanniMed enters into any “defensive” measures – including any acquisition – that the Aurora offer would be off the table

Apparently, there are still a few more installments remaining in this cannabis soap opera.

Elsewhere on the Bullboards, its cannabis, cannabis, cannabis: The Tinley Beverage Company Inc. (CSE: TNY, OTCQB: QRSRF, Forum), Canopy Growth Corp., Lifestyle Delivery Systems Inc. (CSE: LDS, OTCQB: LDSYF, Forum), and Aphria Inc. (TSX: APH, OTCQB: APHQF, Forum). LDS has doubled over the past week on its announced cannabis expansion plans.

Of course Stockhouse investors are still interested in sectors and companies outside of cannabis. In the #3 spot today, junior mining company Garibaldi Resources Corp. (TSX: V.GGI, OTCQB: GGIFF, Forum) continues to attract lots of interest, primarily with respect to its Nickel Mountain Project.

Hive Blockchain Technologies Ltd (TSX: V.HIVE, OTCQB: PRELF, Forum) is becoming a regular name in the Stockhouse Top-10 as blockchain technology moves onto the radar of more investors.

New Nadina Explorations Limited (TSX: V.NNA, OTCQB: NNADF, Forum) has been a ten-bagger since October. It’s turning heads with its copper porphyry prospect in northern British Columbia.

Last but not least, Theralase Technologies Inc (TSX: V.TLT, OTCQB: TLTFF, Forum) is a regular fixture in the Bullboards Top-10. The Company’s share price took a hit a couple of weeks earlier as the market was disappointed with the latest progress report from its clinical testing. However, the Company’s exciting cancer research continues to generate a strong following, and its share price has been recovering.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Isodiol International Inc, CanniMed Therapeutics Inc, and Theralase Technologies Inc are paid clients of Stockhouse Publishing.
