A Vancouver-based tech company is using blockchain to keep track of health code violations. HealthSpace Data Systems Ltd. (CSE: HS,OTC:HDSLF,Forum) has launched a web portal for the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to make it easier for people to find inspection reports for facilities such as restaurants and hotels.
HealthSpace is hosting the inspection system, which is intended to make is easier for OHA to track violation trends. The unannounced inspections focus on general cleanliness and maintenance, but also look closely at temperatures for food or proper disinfection of a swimming pool. The Authority’s Foodborne Illness Prevention Program coordinator David Martin noted in a news release that the database will protect the public from food, pool and lodging-related illness and injury.
