TANK THE CRUDE BACK TO $50 A BARREL

Residential rent and sticky inflation ex shelter is still high. The US will begin cutting when the unemployment moves higher and it has risen to 3.9% in April from 3.8% the previous month. Anything higher than 4% and I believe they start cutting independent of the inflation rate. Why? Because higher unemployment is disinflationary and will bleed into the inflation data with a lag down the road.

The Sahm rule has ticked up to 0.37 compared to 0.23 at the start of the year. When this indicator hits 0.5 it is likely game over for inflation and the booming economy.
