Equitas Resources Corp. (
TSX: V.EQT,
Stock Forum) rose 5.6% to 9.5 cents Wednesday after the company said it has named veteran metals analyst Raymond Goldie to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Goldie is currently vice-president, and senior mining analyst with Salman Partners Inc.,
the company said in a press release.
New Carolin Gold Corp. (
TSX: V.LAD,
Stock Forum) was up 8.3% to 6.5 cents after the company said it is negotiating to buy a further 30% interest in the Ladner Gold Project in British Columbia.
The company said in a press release the process is being facilitated through the receiver of Century Mining Corp.
Bedrocan Cannabis Corp. (
TSXV:BED,
Stock Forum) jumped 30% to 86 cents on news that
Tweed Marijuana (
TSXV:TWD,
Stock Forum) is offering to buy the producer of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis in a friendly deal that would combine the two companies.
Bedrocan's shareholders will receive a total of 33.9 million common shares of Tweed, worth about $61 million as of the close of business on Tuesday,
the companies said in a press release.
The companies say the deal will combine Tweed's consumer-oriented business and Bedrocan's base in the clinical and research communities.
