Enertopia (CSE:TOP, StockForum), a Vancouver-based entity firmly entrenched in the emerging medical marijuana sector, announced today that the company had appointed leading marijuana researcher, Dr. Robert Melamede Ph.D., to its advisory board.

According to the news release, Dr. Melamede is the current president of Cannabis Science (“CBIS”) and was paid a one-time honorarium of $2,500 plus 250,000 shares and 500,000 stock options to join the company's advisory arm.

Company president and CEO, Robert McAllister, commented, “As I have announced before it is our intention to move Enertopia rapidly forward into what we are all witnessing today with a new era of plant based healing.”

Dr. Melamede added, “I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to help out on this rapidly growing ground floor opportunity in the legal marijuana sector.”

And then he concluded, “I look forward to applying my years of industry, academia and passion for life and the releasing of the healing wonders of marijuana to millions of people in North America and around the World.”

More can be found out about Dr. Melamede's qualifications and background on the company's website.

Enertopia was in the news recently as the company pulled in $182K in net proceeds from warrant and option exercises yesterday.

Currently there are 84.2m outstanding shares with a market cap of $58.1 million.
