MONTREAL _ Rio Tinto PLC (NYSE: RIO, Stock Forum) has appointed an executive with a Russian oil and gas company to head its aluminum division, replacing Quebec-born Jacynthe Cote. Alfredo Barrios, 48, will assume his duties on June 1 while Cote will remain an adviser until Sept. 1 before leaving ``to pursue other interests.''
