Defence and security company Saab (STO:SAABB) has received an order from
the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to provide technical
system support to the Swedish Armed Forces during 2014. The order
amounts to SEK 107 million.
The order is a further option under an earlier agreement signed in June
2012 with FMV for performance-based support and maintenance of the
Gripen fighter (i.e. Performance-Based Logistics, PBL). This technical
system support to the Armed Forces and FMV includes operational and
technical support, equipment follow-up, proposed modifications,
continuous updates, environmental technology and warehouse operations
for replacement items.
“With this order, Saab contributes to an effective and accessible Gripen
operation for Sweden in the coming year,” says Lars-Erik Wige, head of
Saab's Support and Services business area.
The order will involve the Support and Services operations at Linköping,
Arboga, Växjö and Östersund.
The original 2012 agreement with FMV includes options for additional
orders to a maximum value of SEK1.37 billion until December 2016. With
this order SEK 620 million of the available options have been exercised.
Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and
solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has
