MELVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canon Solutions America, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced that sales representative Frank Tummino has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast (PIGC).
A 25-year veteran of the printing industry, Tummino prides himself on serving as a trusted advisor to his customers. He views his appointment to the PIGC Board as confirmation the industry respects his consultative approach to salesmanship, along with his creative, forward-thinking focus in an increasingly fast-growth industry.
"It's an incredible honor that the members of this esteemed organization are looking to me for support and direction," said Tummino, Account Executive, Production Print Solutions, Canon Solutions America, Inc. "I look forward to hearing firsthand and unfiltered the challenges and struggles that today's printers have and working together with them to overcome those issues and move the industry into the future."
PIGC leadership shares Tummino's enthusiasm as they seek to tap into his two-plus decades of knowledge and experience.
"We are excited to bring Frank onboard to our Board of Directors," said Jeff Birmingham, President, PIGC, and President, Alliance Graphics & Printing, Houston. "Frank's knowledge and insights will be invaluable as we look to grow our membership and expand on our mission as the Gulf Coast's leading resource for the print industry."
A native of Syracuse, New York, Tummino entered the print industry in 1989. He joined Océ North America (now Canon Solutions America) in 1994 and served as a sales manager in Chicago before moving to the Production Print division and its sales office in Houston. As he begins his two-year term on PIGC's Board of Directors, Tummino's goals include growing the organization's membership and helping facilitate access to trends, training, resources, technologies, and industry experts.
"Today's printers need all the assistance they can get to grow their business and make it more profitable," said Tummino. "As an aggressive supplier of information and education, PIGC will alleviate the fear of change and accelerate the acceptance of new technologies in print manufacturing."
